Developing a Training Regimen: Write it Out! (NOT by Brian Sax)
Professional athletes don’t need to be told they need to be in shape. Most are aptly motivated by money, fame, and competition to train hard and consistently throughout their careers. Most of us don’t get paid based on our athletic ability; we go on jogs and long runs to improve our health and perhaps to lose a few pounds. For the “Regular Joe” runners, the best way get motivated and stay motivated is to plan out a training regimen and stick to it. The most consistent way to ensure that you will actually stick to your training program this time is to write it all out. By putting your training program into words on a page, you are already making a commitment to yourself and to your friends to stick to the program. Others will be able to look at your program and ask you if you’re sticking to it; this is a little trick you can play on your brain to get you to want to keep to your workout routine for the indefinite future.

By writing your regimen down, you are creating a contract with yourself. You don’t have to sign it or even let anyone else read it. You know it’s there, and you know what it will take to stick to your plan. You must convince yourself that your training plan is carved in stone and breaking it is going back on your written word.
Brian Sax ACN says that he and his coach write his training plans down every time he decides to challenge himself to yet another feat in running.
Getting the Most out of Multi-Level Marketing - Passing Profits Along (NOT by Brian Sax)
Multi-level marketing (MLM) works like a legal pyramid scheme, with those at the bottom working to move up and benefit from building a team. You can build your profits by motivating those below you and encouraging them to move up and add layers below them. Everyone must acquire customers, however, in order for money to be earned. Getting the full benefit from those below you on the pyramid is all about maximizing your workers’ desire to move up and to make more money. The best way to do that is to show them how they can improve their station and pass some of your profits along. Multi-level marketing allows you to pass your success along to your workers by motivating them to add layers beneath them. People can rise easily in this setup if they work at recruiting others and motivating them to improve their station. When everyone is improving their station, and more levels get added on, the multi-level marketing ideal is working.

Make sure that everyone knows that they can move up as you have with constant reminders and proper explanation regarding how the system works. Anyone can profit in this model if they are motivated to be both proactive and patient with the system, adding people one level at a time.
Brian Sax of ACN joined the multi-level marketing company ACN as an entry-level representative (IBO). He quickly moved up in the company, eventually becoming the Senior Vice President (SVP). He says that he moved up through building a great Team and helping those on the Team acquire customers.
Winning Races: Visualization (by Brian Sax)
Whatever you think, if you think about it enough, it will come to fruition. This is true for most every facet of life, not just athletics. Any goal, any desired outcome, must be lived again and again in one’s mind first if it is to be manifested in reality. There is a common saying about “turning dreams into reality”. How is this done, mechanically? What is the process?

The subconscious is the key. If you feed your subconscious the right information, your conscious will be driven to take the most efficient course to achieving the goal, whatever it is. In racing (as is true in all sports), visualization is the key. Before I run an 800 meter race, I will run that race in my mind 100+ times. Typically, I will go to the track and walk the two laps, thinking exactly how I will feel at each point in the races, which times I will hit at each spot in the race, how I will respond to my competitors, etc. Ultimately, I will see myself surging to the lead with 50 meters to go and crossing the finish line in first. This is my most important preparation for winning races (above and beyond the general training and recovery). My best advice is that you engage in this process as well for your next race. Start with running (and winning) the race in your mind ten times, and go from there…you may be amazed by the results!

The Benefits of Altitude Training (by Brian Sax)
Many great track athletes and distance runners use altitude training to give them an added edge in competition. There are many benefits to training at altitude, as many elite runners can attest. Although training at altitude can help athletes, it doesn’t guarantee success, but the advantages can be extraordinary. Altitude training must be done intelligently and consistently if one hopes to gain those advantages.
As there is less oxygen in the atmosphere at higher altitudes, the body responds to altitude training by creating more red blood cells, thus increasing the body’s capacity to bring oxygen where it is needed during competition. This extra capacity can be a huge advantage; some athletes who cheat use EPO or old-school blood doping to achieve a similar result without training at altitude.
The ideal is actually training at sea-level and spending the other 20+ hours at altitude. The super-elite endurance athletes, like Lance Armstrong, slept in oxygen deprivation chambers while living at sea level just to gain these very benefits. My advice? The more time spent training and resting at altitude the better!.
